Kevin E. Dunleavy is a judge of the Superior Court of San Mateo County in California. He assumed office in 2021.

This office is outside of Ballotpedia's coverage scope and does not receive scheduled updates. Our scope includes all elected federal and state officeholders as well as comprehensive coverage of the 100 largest cities in America by population.

He was appointed to the court on July 9, 2021 by Gavin Newsom (D) to replace Clifford V. Cretan. Although California Superior Court judges are elected in nonpartisan elections, a press release from Gov. Newsom's office announcing Dunleavy's appointment identified him as a Democrat.[1]

Biography

Dunleavy received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law. He has served in various positions at the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office since 1998, most recently serving as Chief Assistant District Attorney from 2009 to 2021.[1]
