Clyde E. Jones (Democratic Party) was a judge of the Alabama 10th Judicial Circuit. He left office on January 16, 2023.

Jones (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for judge of the Alabama 10th Judicial Circuit. He won in the general election on November 8, 2016.

Education

Jones received a B.A. in psychology in 1976. He then attended the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and earned his J.D. degree in 1979. He was admitted to the practice of law on May 1, 1980. From 1980 to 1985, he worked as a deputy district attorney for Alabama Circuits 5 and 10. He then worked as a private practice lawyer until he joined the circuit court in 2002.[1][2]

Alabama held general elections for local judicial offices in 2016. A primary election took place on March 1, 2016, with a primary runoff on April 12, 2016. The general election was held on November 8, 2016.

Incumbent Clyde E. Jones defeated Michael Glover in the general election for the Alabama 10th Judicial Circuit Place 14 seat.[3]

Jones defeated Patricia Anne Stephens in the Democratic primary election with 61 percent of the vote. He ran unopposed in the general election, earning 100 percent of the vote.[4]

Endorsements

The Birmingham News endorsed Jones for re-election to his seat.[5]
