The Kentucky Commissioner of Education Referendum was on the November 5, 1957 ballot in Kentucky as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure would have abolished the elective superintendent of public instruction and established in its place a commissioner of education appointed by a nine-member Board of Education.
