Karen Lynn O'Malley is judge for the Cook Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. She was elected to this position on Nov. 6, 2012 to replace Claudia Conlon. Her current term expires in 2018.[1]

Education

O'Malley received her B.A. degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1985 and her J.D. degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1992.[2]

Career

O'Malley has taught at the DePaul University College of Law, the University of Illinois at Chicago and Northwestern University School of Law.[2]

2012 election

O'Malley was elected without opposition on Nov. 6, 2012. She ran in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012 to replace Claudia Conlon. She received 47.71% of the vote in the primary, ousting incumbent Judge Stanley L. Hill.[1][3][4]
