BATON ROUGE, Louisiana: Just hours before the March 29 deadline, state legislators from both chambers prefiled 901 bills for the 2013 session. Representatives prefiled 666 bills and Senators prefiled another 235 measures before the deadline passed. Bills that were prefiled included legislation to repeal personal income taxes, corporate income taxes and corporate franchise taxes. The 2013 session convenes at noon April 8 and will adjourn no later than 6 p.m. June 6. Any member of the Legislature is allowed to file five additional fiscal-related bills by 6 p.m. April 16, according to legislative rules.[1]
