Maryland judge stops fake ballot from being circulated

UPPER MARLBORO, Maryland: A Maryland circuit court judge on September 7, 2010, banned a community group from issuing a fake ballot days before it's September 14, 2010 primary election[1].
Prince Georges County Circuit Court Judge Larnzell Martin Jr., banned Citizens for Change from issuing fake ballots showing that State Senate candidate C. Anthony Muse (D-26th District) failed to register his campaign with the Maryland State Board of Elections. The fake ballots were designed to influence voters to not vote for Muse in the primary[1].
The week before the ruling, Muse saw one of the fake ballots and asked the Attorney General's office to investigate the matter. The Secretary of State's office filed a petition with the Prince Georges County Circuit Court to stop distribution of the fake ballots[1].
Judge Martin issued a restraining order to the Fort Washington-based community group on September 8, 2010[1]. The order calls on Citizens for Change to not distribute ballot-like material to influence voters[1].
