BOSTON, Massachusetts: Steven Baddour, a Democratic member of the Massachusetts State Senate since 2002, announced his intent to resign earlier this week after 10 years in the chamber.[1]

He is leaving the Senate to take a job as a lawyer with the law firm McDermott, Will & Emery.[1]

Baddour did not give an exact date for when he will officially resign, and no announcement was made regarding whether a special election will be held prior to the regular general election in November.[1]
