Louisiana: Yesterday, the Senate confirmed two Louisiana nominees to federal courts. Elizabeth Erny Foote, nominated to the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana and Brian Jackson, nominated to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana are awaiting President Obama's signature for lifetime appointments. Both were recommended by Senator Mary L. Landrieu who urged the Senate to confirm the judges. Foote was originally nominated for the post in July, while Jackson received his nomination in May 2009.[1]
