Douglas A. Werth lost in his bid for the Fifth District Court of Blaine and Camas counties, Idaho.[1]

Education

Werth earned his law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law and a master's degree in law from Georgetown University.[2]

Career

Werth has been in private practice since 2000. Prior to that, he was prosecuting attorney of Blaine County, Idaho.[3]

Lawsuit

In June 2000, while a prosecutor for Blaine County, a deputy prosecutor sued him and the county for sexual discrimination and retaliatory treatment. A confidential settlement was reached to decide the case, though Werth says it was dismissed.[3]

2010 election

Werth lost in his 2010 bid for the Fifth District Court to Robert Elgee, winning only 42.4 percent of the vote.[4]

Bar survey

The Idaho State Bar surveyed it's members on the contested races in 2010. Elgee scored slightly higher than Werth in all four categories.[5][6][7]

Endorsements

Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney Grant Loebs has endorsed Werth.[8]
