Robert Elgee is a former judge for the Fifth Judicial District of Idaho. He was appointed to this position in 2004 by Governor Dirk Kempthorne.[1] Elgee retired in May 2017.[2]

Education

Elgee received his undergraduate degree from the University of Idaho and his J.D. from the University of Idaho Law School.[3][1]

Career

Prior to Elgee's appointment to the district court in 2004, he served as a magistrate judge for 12 years and as a deputy prosecuting attorney in Canyon County, Idaho.[1]

Elgee won re-election to the Fifth Judicial District in 2010 with 57.6% of the vote. He was opposed by Douglas A. Werth.[6][7][8]

Bar survey

The Idaho State Bar surveyed it's members on the contested races in 2010. Elgee scored slightly higher than Werth in all four categories.[9][10][11]
