Liu's nomination approved by Senate committee

Washington, D.C.: Goodwin Liu's nomination to the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit was approved 12-7 by the Senate Judiciary Committee. The seven opposed were Republicans. The California law professor's nomination will now be sent to the full Senate for confirmation.[1]
