J.D. Watts is a judge for Branch 15 of the Milwaukee County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. He assumed office in 2009. His current term ends on August 1, 2027.

Watts ran for re-election for the Branch 15 judge of the Milwaukee County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. He won in the general election on April 6, 2021.

Biography

Education

Watts earned his B.A. in American history from Oberlin College and graduated from the University School of Milwaukee in 1970. He earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1977, and also attended the University of Chicago Law School from 1975 to 1976.[1]

Career

Prior to his election to the Milwaukee County Circuit Court in 2009, Watts was a municipal court judge for the Milwaukee County Municipal Court.[2] Prior to this, Watts was an assistant district attorney for Milwaukee County, a business executive at George Watts & Son, Inc., and a private practice attorney.[1][2]
