Oklahoma 2014 ballot measures
Three ballot measures were certified for the November 4, 2014, ballot in the state of Oklahoma. All three were approved.
The 2014 legislative session began on February 3 and concluded on May 23, 2014. Three legislatively referred constitutional amendments appeared on the November ballot, addressing the administration of government, taxes and veterans. At least five other potential legislatively referred constitutional amendments failed to make the ballot.
No initiatives appeared on the November 4, 2014, ballot. Initiative supporters were required to submit 155,216 valid signatures within 90 days of the potential measure's initial filing. No initiative campaigns successfully submitted enough signatures to refer measures to the ballot.
Historical facts
- Between 1990 and 2013, an average of six measures appeared on the even-numbered year ballots in Oklahoma. Therefore, 2014 was a below-average year based on the number of certified measures.
- From 1990 to 2014, the number of measures on statewide even-year ballots ranged from two to 11.
- Between 1990 and 2014, 64 of 79, or 81 percent, of Oklahoma ballot measures were approved by voters.
- Conversely, 15 of 79, or 19 percent, of measures were defeated.
