Letter to our readers.png

Dear Readers:

Over the years, Ballotpedia has been inviting our readers to share their opinion with us – and some of you may have even spoken with our team as we seek to learn exactly how to provide the best, most efficient, and most unbiased content to you at every moment.

The response has been overwhelming, heartening, and essential as we build out our hyper-local, detailed content that focuses not only on equipping you on the most minute details, but also on the big picture of connecting Americans through our shared journey toward facts.

We heard that facts matter to you – that our mission to avoid bias at every level has been met with approval and applause. We also heard that there aren’t many places to turn now to get that rigorous, vetted, and sourced material, so that you can make up your own minds about how to evaluate the political scene.

We wanted you to know a little bit about who you, the Ballotpedians, are:

  • You’re more interested in truth than in affirming your worldview
  • You’re less interested in who’s writing than in seeing information sourced, footnoted, and extensively researched
  • You care about an America that can disagree and yet feel united – by dialogue that is freed by a central set of facts rooted in accuracy
  • You can’t help loving the details
  • You love to share about Ballotpedia (Thank you!)

Where do we go from here? First, we thank you for affirming why we seek out the clearest, most concise, and unedited facts. It’s about more than accuracy and rigor — it’s about setting the groundwork for conversations at the water cooler, cooling heads at the dinner table, and equipping every American to take part in the political conversations of our day.

We hope we aren’t being overly ambitious when we say that, now that we know a bit more about you, we’re working even harder to bring our work to a greater audience. We need your help: Ballotpedians are a unique group, the early adopters of a solution for the divide in the country, which isn’t uniformity or conformity, but reliability of information.
