|Many people know me through my commitment to justice, others because of my professional work as a facilitator and court advocate. I help shape and support policy on the City of Aurora's Community Police Task Force, Citizens' Advisory Budget Committee, Community Mobilization Team and Youth Violence Prevention Program. I also sit on the State of Colorado Child Welfare and Domestic Violence Task Force and Maternal Mortality Review Committee.
You and every person in Aurora needs to be safe, be healthy and thrive.
- Community Safety, Wellbeing & Education: Fund proven violence prevention, interventions and restorative practices. Expand services and education from existing, successful community partners. Develop a viable, housing-first approach. Invest in our natural resources and environmental justice.
- Restoration of Public Trust: Collaborate with community, peers and other key stakeholders for positive, measurable outcomes for all people in Aurora. Increase access for communities historically left out of processes and connection in Aurora. Increase transparency.
- Economic Resiliency: Insist upon fiscal accountability in running our city. Increase the hourly minimum wage to a liveable wage. Support local, small business owners.
- Results-based interventions to address community safety.
- Financial accountability.
- Infrastructure investment and planning.
- A liveable, minimum wage.
- Education to prevent violence, support first-time home ownership and empower local businesses.
- Housing-first to help address increased homelessness.
