Christopher 'Chris' R. Widener (b. August 22, 1963) is a former Republican member of the Ohio State Senate, representing District 10 from 2008 to January 31, 2016. He resigned to take a job as an outside consultant for Central State University.[1]

Widener served as president pro tempore from January 2013 to his resignation in January 2016. Widener served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2001 and 2003 to 2008.

Biography

Widener earned his B.S. in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati. His professional experience includes working as a civil service architect at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.[2]

Widener won re-election in the 2012 election for Ohio Senate, District 10. Widener was unopposed in the March 6 Republican primary election and defeated Jeff D. Robertson (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4]
