Reverend Dan Wilson has worked 40 years as a minister and during that time delivered strongly prophetic sermons, sponsored programs for out of work high school dropouts, provided training for special needs teenagers, provided a safe space for monitored family visits during the process of family reunification, been a classroom reader, as well as an instructor of religious culture, in a public elementary magnet school, and been a college professor and chaplain. His ministry brought him to crises around the world, including working closely with farm protestors in South Georgia during the farm foreclosure crisis; visiting war torn areas of Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua; making a presentation to the U.S. Embassy in San Salvador; and being part of a coalition that started 26 after-school programs in Macon, Georgia. The Reverend Dan Wilson graduated from LaGrange College and the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. As a recent retiree, Dan enjoys guest preaching, leading study groups, hiking and working as an artist in studios in Clayton, Georgia and Highlands, North Carolina. He has two grown daughters, who are educators, three grandchildren, and a loving partner, Mary, of over 35 years.
  • Georgia families and small businesses deserve a strong economy that works for everyone. We can achieve this with a regional minimum wage, apprenticeships that lead to careers, 21st century jobs and a secure retirement.

  • It is immoral to take health care away from people and put individuals and families at risk. We can do better.

  • Rebuild trust in our government by electing leaders who believe our government should work for all of us.
I believe that a better path forward must include bipartisanship, common-sense solutions and helping those families of the 9th who have been left behind by this economy, including the one in three children who live in poverty.
