Daniel Patrick Connell was a 2014 candidate for the Sixth Circuit Court in Montgomery County in Maryland.[1]

Connell ran for election to the 6th Circuit Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014, receiving 22.3 percent of the vote. He competed against judges Audrey A. Creighton, Gary Eugene Bair, Nelson W. Rupp, Jr., and Joan E. Ryon. Connell cross-filed as a Democrat but finished last in that primary, receiving 15.4 percent of the vote. Primary candidates competed for 4 seats.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 17.9 percent of the vote. He competed against judges Audrey A. Creighton, Gary Eugene Bair, Joan E. Ryon, and Nelson W. Rupp, Jr. for four open seats.

Education
Connell received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and his J.D. from the University of Denver.[4]
Military service
Connell served in the Marine Corps from 1987 to 1993. He has also served as a senior rule of law advisor with the United States Department of State in Iraq, in 2009 and 2010, and Afghanistan, in 2012 and 2013.[4][4]
Career
Connell works as an attorney in private practice.[4]
