Expand all | Collapse all

Kimberly A. Skaggs was born and raised in southern New Mexico. She is a wife, mother, private pilot, neighbor, New Mexico State Alumna, and businesswoman. Kimberly believes we deserve a better education system, a drastic improvement to our economy and our infrastructure needs definite direction.

New Mexico has the resources to move up to the top of every good list and become a leader in economic development, energy, and education.

Senate district 36 is being underrepresented in Santa Fe and it is time that our voices are heard.
  • Champion high quality education
  • Protect & create New Mexico jobs
  • Defend our 2nd Amendment & the Right to Life
Education-

•We must do better to provide our next generations high quality education. Being last in the nation in education is unacceptable.

Taxes-
•We need to keep taxes low to attract and retain business and industry, and to allow for a better quality of life for our citizens.
•We need to end the tax on social security so our senior citizens can enjoy a more comfortable retirement.

2nd Amendment-
•We must engage to defend our freedoms. For many New Mexicans, hunting, sport shooting, owning, and collecting guns is a long-standing way of life, and this needs to be protected as a sacred Constitutional right.

Right to Life-
•Every life is a precious gift from God, and New Mexico has failed to protect these most vulnerable citizens. We must work together to change this, because it's not a partisan issue, it's an issue of moral and ethical fortitude.

Crime-

•New Mexico has learned to accept and live with incredibly high crime rates, and this just doesn't have to be the case. Our laws are often inadequate and our judges don't always fully enforce the punishments our system allows. This needs to change.
