Norm Ross was a 2016 Republican candidate for District 8 of the Nevada State Assembly.

Campaign themes

2016

Ross' campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

  • Taxes on Business: The Commerce Tax passed in 2015 will only hurt businesses in Nevada and cause more job loss. Norm supports the ballot initiative to repeal the Commerce Tax.
  • Property Taxes: Norm opposes any increase in property taxes. Increases will only burden our seniors and families already struggling to keep up with the rising cost of living.
  • Education: Nevada public school districts have failed to translate increased budgets into quality education with higher student achievement.
  • Veterans: Norm has a special concern for our veterans because Norm himself is a Veteran, so he understands firsthand how we can take steps to provide better and deserved benefits.[2]
