Pamelya Herndon (Democratic Party) is a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives, representing District 28. She assumed office on June 22, 2021. Her current term ends on December 31, 2026.

Herndon (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the New Mexico House of Representatives to represent District 28. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024.

The Bernalillo County Commission appointed Herndon to the state House on June 22, 2021, to replace Melanie Ann Stansbury (D), who was elected to New Mexico's 1st Congressional District on June 1 of that year.[1]

Biography

Pamelya Herndon earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Howard University in 1975 and a J.D. from the University of Texas in 1978. Herndon's career experience includes working as the president and CEO of KWH Law Center for Social Justice and Change, the CEO of the Women's Center of Social Justice and Change, and the executive director of the Southwest Women's Law Center. She has served as the first vice president of the NAACP Albuquerque Branch.[2]
