Sherrie Hayashi
Sherrie Hayashi is a former Utah Commissioner of Labor. She was first appointed to the position in 2006 by former Governor Jon Huntsman.[1] She resigned on June 27, 2016, in order to assume a position as the director of the Office of Equal Opportunity at the University of Utah.[2]
Biography
Hayashi served as executive director for the Multicultural Legal Center from March 1997 to 2003. From 1999 to June 2003 she was associate general counsel for the Utah Labor Commission. She then became director of the Antidiscrimination & Labor Division at the commission, a role she remained in until June 2006 when she was appointed commissioner of labor.[3]

Hayashi served as Utah Commissioner of Labor from June 2006 until her resignation on June 27, 2016. She departed from the post in order to assume a position in the private sector.[2][3][2]
