Ruzbacki's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Building A Community Focused Decentralized Economy As a Green, I support building a sustainable, locally controlled, diversified, and decentralized economy. This means support for local solutions and for businesses that will keep money recirculating in the local economy. As a means to kickstart locally focused solutions, I would support changes in the regulations that award state contracts to empower worker owned cooperatives to compete more effectively in the state contracting process. Single Payer Healthcare I support the New York Health Act and will support a State Senate version of Assembly Bill A05062 sponsored by Assembly member Gottfried that will make Single Payer Healthcare the law in New York State and provide healthcare as a matter of right to all New Yorkers. Republicans in the State Senate along with a group of conservative Democrats working with Governor Cuomo have sought to block a New York version of Medicare for All and if elected, I will work to end this obstructionism in the New York State Senate. The $15 Per Hour Minimum Wage I support the $15 per hour minimum wage and support accelerating the adoption of the $15 per hour minimum wage across New York State. I believe that the state minimum wage law should be $15 per hour all across New York State and that the law should go into effect sooner rather than later. The $15 per hour minimum wage will provide New York workers with a living wage and allow New York businesses to benefit from wage lead growth. Wages that allow workers to purchase goods and services stimulates economic growth, and improving wages in New York’s 45th State Senate district is a top priority for me. The Green New Deal As a Green, I support the enactment of a Green New Deal by New York State that will allow the state to source 100% of its energy needs from sustainable, diversified, decentralized renewable energy suppliers by 2030. I support fully funding the conversion of state, county, public schools, and municipal government facilities to clean renewable energy by 2030 with a Green New Deal that will create public works jobs installing decentralized solar power, solar thermal, and geothermal heating and cooling for all of New York’s public buildings. Fully Funded Public Schools As a Green and a teacher, I support fully funding our public schools. Our educational system must provide a quality education to all of our students. I support funding to maintain the physical structure of our public schools and provide adequate and fair pay to our teachers. I also support fully funding technology innovations like online learning tools that will allow both our most gifted and our least gifted students to learn at their own pace.[1] |
