- "Believes that government should stay out of your health care decisions. When government dictates what gets covered, reimbursements to doctors and hospitals or punish those who opt out of “approved plans”, patients wait in lines, services get cut, quality suffers. Supports Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), tax credits and risk weighting to incentivize healthy living. Encourages increased funding for community health centers. Believes that investing in mental health care will help reduce crime, prison populations and substance abuse."
- Taxes
- "Taxation, when necessary, should focus on consumption taxes, taxation on unhealthy products and taxation on actions which hurt the community. Does not support increases in property or income taxes."
- Environment
- "Backs trash-by-the-pound initiatives, tax credits for recycling and inmates sorting recyclables at landfills.Supports incentive based programs to encourage residents to produce and profit from making their own power, such as solar and wind energy."
- Education
- "Supports increases in state per-pupil aid and teacher pay. Promotes fair merit pay with elements that are formative (observations) and summative (testing on same student at beginning and ending of year).
