David Randall "Randy" Kennedy is a circuit court judge for the Twentieth Circuit Court Division VII, which presides over Davidson County, Tennessee. Kennedy was appointed by former Governor Phil Bredesen in 2003 to replace Judge Frank Clement. He was elected to the court in 2004 and re-elected without opposition in 2006 and 2014. His current eight-year term ends in 2022.[1][2][3][4]

Education

Kennedy received his undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1972 and his J.D. degree from the Nashville School of Law in 1977.[1][6]

Career

Kennedy spent his pre-judicial career as a general practice attorney. Prior to becoming a judge, he was the managing partner of the firm of Kennedy & Brown. He also served for two terms on the Metropolitan Nashville Council and was a member of the Metro Charter Revision Commission from 1995 to 2009.[1][6]
