Keeley Boyer is the superintendent of the Ector County Independent School District. She assumed the position in February 2025.[1]
Past superintendents
- Scott Muri was the superintendent of the Ector County Independent School District from 2019 to 2024. Muri's previous career experience includes working as the superintendent of the Spring Branch Independent School District, deputy superintendent of academics of Fulton County Schools in Georgia, and chief information officer of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in North Carolina.[2]
- Jim Nelson was the interim superintendent of the Ector County Independent School District from 2018 to 2019. Nelson's previous career experience included working as an attorney, school board member, and Texas Commissioner of Education.[3]
- Tom Crowe was the superintendent of the Ector County Independent School District from 2013 to 2018. Crowe's previous career experience included working as an educational consultant and as the superintendent of the McKinney Independent School District.[3][4]
School board
The Ector County ISD school board consists of seven members elected to four-year terms. Board members are elected by district.[5]
Elections
Board members are elected on a staggered basis in May of odd-numbered years.
Four seats on the board were up for general election on May 3, 2025. The filing deadline for this election was February 14, 2025.
