On November 4, 2010, Dalrymple made Drew Wrigley his Lieutenant Governor-designate.[1] Both Dalrymple and Wrigley were sworn in on December 7, 2010, although Wrigley had already been working on his transition since November 15, 2010.
Biography
Wrigley is a native North Dakotan, born in Bismarck and raised in Fargo. His family owns a mechanical contracting company in the area, and has lived in the state for four generations. He left the state to earn a law degree in Washington D.C. and completed a one year clerkship in Delaware upon graduation. During summers as a law student, Wrigley returned to North Dakota and worked for Federal Judge Rodney Webb, for the U.S. Attorney's Office, and for the Solberg Law Firm.[2] After finishing his clerkship, he worked in Philadelphia as an assistant district attorney for five years before returning to North Dakota in 1998.
Prior to taking office as the Lieutenant Governor, Wrigley briefly served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Policy Adviser to Governor Hoeven in 2000 and was elected as Chair of the North Dakota Republican Party He also spent nearly a decade, from 2001 until 2009, as the U.S. District Attorney for North Dakota. Wrigley left that position to become the Vice President for Compliance, Audit and Ethics for Noridian Administrative Services, a Medicare and Medicaid contracting service headquartered in North Dakota.

Political career
Lieutenant Governor (2010-present)
When North Dakota's then-Governor, John Hoeven, traded governorship for a seat in the U.S. Senate in 2010, his Lieutenant Governor, Jack Dalrymple, became the Governor-designate of North Dakota. In turn, Dalrymple named Drew Wrigley his Lieutenant Governor-designate on November 4, 2010.[3] Both Dalrymple and Wrigley were sworn in on December 7, 2010, after a nearly one month long transition period.
The Dalrymple/Wrigley Administration announced a renewed focus on building up infrastructure and on remaining attentive to fiscal restraint. Wrigley also was charged with developing agri-business and commerce in North Dakota. Additionally, he is the President of the North Dakota State Senate.
Elections
2012
Wrigley ran for election to a full, four-year term as the Lieutenant Governor of North Dakota in 2012. He ran on the Republican ticket with incumbent Gov. Jack Dalrymple. In the general election in November, defeated Democrats Ryan Taylor & Ellen Chaffee and Libertarian candidate Roland Riemers.[4][5]
