The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 3, 2014. Randy Lamb was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Ed Jackson defeated Brandon Dodds in the Republican primary. James A. Baxter ran as an independent candidate. Tim York ran as a Constitution Party candidate. Jackson defeated Lamb, Baxter and York in the general election.[1][2]
