Biography
Addie Lee Green's career experience includes working with Packard Electric Division of General Motors. Green served as the vice president of a local International Union of Electronic, Electrical, Salaried, Machine and Furniture Workers (IUE), an election commissioner and city alderwoman of Bolton, Mississippi, and a board member of Hinds County Resource.[1][2][3]

Eleven state executive offices in Mississippi were up for election in 2015. The general election was held on November 3, 2015, following a primary election on August 4, 2015. Runoffs were scheduled for August 25 in case no candidate received a majority (50 percent plus one) of the popular vote in a given primary race.
Challenger Green ran unopposed in the Democratic primary election and faced face incumbent Cindy Hyde-Smith (R) and challenger Cathy L. Toole (I) in the general election.[4]

Green narrowly defeated Bruce Burton in the Democratic primary on August 2.[9] She fell to incumbent Republican Lynn Posey in the November 8 general election. Independent Danny Ayers was slated to run but his name did not appear on the ballot.
