The Alabama Regarding the County Sheriff, Amendment 3, also known as Amendment 3, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 8, 1932, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that a county sheriff would be elected every four years and may run as his own successor. The sheriff may be impeached for the death or bodily harm made to a prisoner due to neglect, connivance, cowardice or other grave fault of the sheriff or his deputies.[1]
