The Alaska Healthcare Free Choice Amendment did not appear on the November 2010 ballot in the state of Alaska.
The measure was designed to “prohibit passage of laws that compel any person or employer to participate in a particular health care system.” The measure, if enacted, would have also eliminated laws that penalize a citizen for declining to participate in a specific health-care system.[1]
Support
Alaska Representative Mike Kelly supported the measure. Kelly stated that he was going to introduce the proposal and was hoping to have the amendment on the 2010 general election ballot. The representative said he planned to unveil a draft of the resolution when the legislative session began in January 2010.[1]
