Alfred W. Bates III
Alfred W. Bates III is a district court judge for the 5th Judicial District in Virginia.[1] He filled a seat vacated by Judge William R. Savage, III, who moved to the 5th Circuit in April 2011.[2] Bates has served as a judge on the court since July 22, 2011.[3]
Education
Bates received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his J.D. from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary.[3]
