This measure sought to renew the current school levy which was set at a rate of $.29 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for emergency requirements as needed in the school district.[2]

The question on the ballot:
Shall a levy renewing an existing levy be imposed by the Allen East Local School District for the purpose of PROVIDING FUNDS FOR THE EMERGENCY REQUIREMENTS OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT in the sum of $330,000 per year, and levy of taxes to be made outside of the ten-mill limitation estimated by the county auditor to average 2.92 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.292 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a period of 5 years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013?[3] |
