  • Student outcomes.

I am most concerned about student outcomes. How ready are our PEM students for the workforce or college when they graduate from Plainview Elgin Millville High School?

    We can do much better.
  • Student Safety. Students need to feel safe at all times whether on campus, in the classroom or when participating in extra-curricular activities. The curriculum that is used in the classroom should be age appropriate. Parents need to know what is being taught in the classroom and the community should have access to that information also.
  • Transparency. The school board should be accessible and transparent. Parents and community members should be able to ask questions and get answers when they have concerns in the school district. I would like to have town hall meetings to discuss issues that are concerning to parents and the community. The community should be informed of what is going on in our school district. As an example, we need a PEM school district web site showing all curriculum being taught in the school district K-12.
Curriculum.

Parents and community members should know what is being taught in our school district. To many times we hear about is being taught in our students classrooms after the fact. We should know what is going to be taught in the classroom at the beginning of each year. There should be a school website with all subjects being taught and a syllabus of each subject available on this website.
Honesty, trustworthy, transparency. You are serving the community that elected you.
