Anthony Davidson was a 2015 Republican candidate for District 21 of the Indianapolis, Indiana City Council. Anthony Paul Davidson lost the general election on November 3, 2015.

Davidson was previously elected to serve on the city council in 2011.[1]

Biography

Having grown up in Beech Grove, Davidson graduated from Beech Grove High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Indianapolis. He has worked as a communication specialist at a major pharmaceutical company.

After high school, Davidson joined the U.S. Air Force and served in the Air Force Reserves, attaining the rank of staff sergeant and working as an aircrew flight equipment journeyman. He was stationed at multiple bases, but he spent the majority of his time at Illinois' Scott Air Force Base.[1]

The city of Indianapolis, Indiana, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. A partisan primary election took place on May 5, 2015. The filing deadline for major party candidates who wished to run in this election was February 6, 2015. The filing deadline for independent or minor party candidates was July 15, 2015.[3] Twenty-five city council seats were up for election. Indianapolis's four at-large seats were not up for election, because those seats were scheduled to expire at the end of 2015.[4]

In the Republican primary election for District 21, Anthony Paul Davidson ran unopposed. In the Democratic primary, Frank Mascari also ran unopposed. Mascari defeated Davidson in the general election. Incumbent Benjamin Hunter (R) ran for election to the District 19 seat.[5]
