I feel very passionate about protecting our students with unbiased curriculm in our classrooms, removing pornography from our libraries, and raising our test scores back above state averages.
I look up to my grandmother Betty Kindred who is now 91 years young! She portrays a fierce example of what a strong woman can accomplish over a long lifetime. She's always been a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, business owner and community member and I am proud to follow her example in all areas of my life. Born during the Great Depression, her family endured extraordinary adversity and poverty while moving to Texas from Oklahoma. After settling in the Galena Park subdivision of Houston, she worked very hard by her husband's side creating our family legacy that will last for generations. I can only hope to do accomplish as much as my grandmother while passing on strong Christian values for generations to come.

In support of my district's diverse needs, I will prepare for Board decisions by asking myself 3 questions. 1) Does this decision support our goal to educate and prepare our students for their future? 2) Does this decision exist within our boundaries as a school district? and 3) Does this decision make the best use of our tax payers' funds?
I will build relationships within the broader community by participating in and sponsoring a District Leadership Coalition facilitating quarterly non partisan Board involvement in the community for the sole purpose of open dialogue amongst parents, teachers, clergy, and local small businesses.
