Aurora School District Levy Renewal (May 2010)

There was an Aurora School District Levy Renewal measure on the May 4 ballot in Portage County for voters in the Aurora school district.

This measure was approved

  • YES 1,754 (64.77%)Approveda
  • NO 954 (35.23%)[1]

This measure sought to renew a $.056 levy on property taxes in the district, which, on average, cost about $162 a year for homeowners. The levy in effect going into this election generated around $3.18 million. The measure was designed to renew the tax for another five years. The then-current levy was set to expire at the end of 2010.[2] This levy generated around 10 percent of the school district's budget.[3]
