Barbara Cargill
Barbara Cargill (Republican Party) was a member of the Texas State Board of Education, representing District 8. Cargill assumed office in 2005. Cargill left office on January 1, 2021.
Biography
As of November 2017, Cargill was the director of the Wonders of the Woodlands Science Camp, which she founded in 1995. Prior to that, she was a biology teacher in the Garland and Hurst-Euless-Bedford school districts.[1]

Political career
Texas State Board of Education (2005-2021)
Cargill was first elected to the board in November 2004 and was re-elected in 2008, 2012, and 2016. She was appointed to a two-year term as chairwoman of the board by Gov. Rick Perry (R) in 2011 and was reappointed in 2013.[1] She did not seek re-election in 2020.
