Beth Ann Butsch was a judge for the circuit court of Fayette County, Indiana. She defeated incumbent Daniel Lee Pflum to win the seat in 2010. Butsch ran for re-election in the general election on November 8, 2016, but was defeated.

Indiana held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election took place on May 3, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was February 5, 2016. Hubert Branstetter, Jr. (R) defeated incumbent Beth Ann Butsch (D) in the general election for the Indiana 73rd Circuit Court in Madison County.[1]

Incumbent Beth Ann Butsch defeated James M. Fraley in the Democratic primary for the Indiana 73rd Circuit Court in Fayette County.[1]

In 2010, Butsch ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. She won the general election receiving 55.5 percent of the vote, while her opponent, Daniel Lee Pflum, received 44.5 percent of the vote.[2]
