Brian Jacobs (Iowa)
Brian Jacobs was a candidate for District 1 representative on the Waterloo Community Schools school board in Iowa. Jacobs withdrew from the by-district general election scheduled for September 12, 2017, because of his continued residency in Wisconsin.[1]

Three of seven seats on the Waterloo Community Schools Board of Education in Iowa were up for general election on September 12, 2017. One seat was up for at-large election and two seats, Districts 1 and 4, were up for by-district election. After two candidates withdrew from the election in late August, each seat was unopposed.[2]
One of three incumbents chose to file for re-election, leaving two open seats.[3] At-large incumbent Shanlee McNally ran unopposed and was re-elected. Newcomer Astor Williams was elected to the open District 1 seat and Endya Johnson was elected to the open District 4 seat.[4]
Two newcomers filed for the District 1 seat, Williams and Brian Jacobs. On August 28, 2017, Jacobs withdrew his candidacy. He appeared on the ballot. Newcomers Leah Morrison and Johnson filed to run for the District 4 seat. On August 30, 2017, Morrison withdrew from the race, but her name remained on the ballot.[5][6]
