Brian Michaelson
Brian Michaelson was an associate juvenile judge of the Third District of Iowa. He was appointed to this position in 1985.[1] He was retained on November 2, 2010 to a six-year term, but did not serve out his entire term, as he retired in December 2012.[2][3]
Education
Michaelson received his undergraduate degree (summa cum laude) from Westmar College in 1975 and his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1978. He graduated from the National College of Juvenile Justice in 1986. He is now married with two children.[1]
Career
Michaelson began his career in 1978 as an assistant Plymouth County attorney. He worked in this position until his judicial appointment in 1985. He also worked as a private practice lawyer with the Dull, Murphy, Dull and Michaelson Law Firm for seven years prior to joining the court.[1]
2010 election
Michaelson was retained on November 2, 2010 with 69.92 percent of the vote.[2][4]
