McDaniel ran for election to the Madison County Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 27.8 percent of the vote. He competed against Douglas R. Holly, Scott Singletary, Wilburn Carlton Bullard III and Kent Pate.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote, McDaniel faced Singletary in a runoff election on May 27, 2014. He won, earning 58 percent of the votes cast.
General: He was unopposed in the general election on November 4, 2014.
