A Cañon City TABOR temporary relief vote was on the November 3, 2009 ballot in Fremont County for voters in Cañon City.

The ballot measure asked for the city to be permitted to keep and spend revenues that were restricted by the 1992 statewide TABOR. The 1992 TABOR law required voter approval of tax increases that exceed an index created by combining inflation and population increases.

On July 20, 2009, the Cañon City Council unanimously approved a TABOR timeout ballot measure for the ballot. The measure was not designed to be permanent but, instead, had a 10-year limit. The measure was expected to provide temporary relief during the state's economic downturn. The measure was designed to be in effect from January 1, 2010, until January 1, 2020, with TABOR reinstated thereafter.[1]
