Cabell County Chief Judge to retire

Charleston, West Virginia: Chief Judge Dan P. O'Hanlon of the 6th Judicial Circuit in Cabell County, West Virginia has announced his plan to retire on October 31, 2010. Judge O'Hanlon has served on this court since 1985. He explained, "I am ready to do something else, and I'm looking for something else meaningful to do."
Prior to taking the bench, O'Hanlon worked as the chairman of Marshall University's Criminal Justice Department and as a Cabell County assistant prosecutor. He does not know what job he will pursue after his retirement from the bench, but he stated, "I'm really open to anything." A judicial advisory committee will select nominees to fill O'Hanlon's position. Gov. Manchin will appoint the new judge.[1]
