One seat on the Carroll County Schools Board of Education in Georgia was up for by-district special election on March 21, 2017. The special election was called to complete Denise Askin's unexpired term after she resigned in 2016.[1] When no candidate received a majority of the vote during the general election, a runoff election was held on April 18, 2017. Clayton Kierbow defeated Jessie Strickland by one vote to win election to the District 4 seat.[2] Kierbow and Strickland defeated Carol Turner Beckham in the general election.[3]
