Moy ran for election to the 218th District Court.
Primary: She was successful in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 63.7 percent of the vote. She competed against Trent Rowell and Sylvia Rodriguez.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 46.7 percent of the vote. She competed against Russell Wilson.

Moy earned an undergraduate degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, going on to receive her J.D. from Baylor University.[4]
