Catherine Sargent Hunt defeated John Asbell in the runoff election after neither candidate reached a majority of the general election vote. Hunt and Asbell defeated Kendall Butler to reach the runoff.[1]
No incumbents filed for re-election in 2016. Newcomers Kirk Hancock and Brandon Brooks ran unopposed for Districts 2 and 3, respectively. Joe Franklin defeated Dorothy Corry Jennings and Rodell Poole for the District 6 seat.[1]
