I am running for the Alpine School Board in Eastern San Diego County to bring innovative leadership and a student-centered vision to Alpine schools.

As an after school science teacher with a degree in astrophysics and experience at NASA, I bring the expertise needed to strengthen our district’s educational programs. I know that great teachers have both the content knowledge to explain, and the passion and patience to inspire the best in our next generation of learners.

I’m running for the School Board to deliver the leadership our district needs to overcome financial challenges and build a sustainable future. Alpine cultivates some of the brightest students in the county, and they deserve a district that invests in their success.

As a board member, I will work to secure substantial grants and form strategic partnerships with local industry leaders in science and technology, bringing fresh resources and opportunities directly to our teachers and kids.

Under my board leadership, our schools will lead in educational excellence by expanding our STEM programs, fostering a culture of curiosity, and developing strong foundations in math, science, and critical thinking to prepare our students for well-paying jobs and excel as the leaders of tomorrow. We will teach to the whole child and ensure that every kid in Alpine has the tools to succeed.

Together, we can create a bright future for our students and our town!
  • Expand STEM and Career-Ready Programs: I will secure grants and partnerships to enhance hands-on STEM education, ensuring our students are prepared for future careers in high-demand fields and empowering them to become leaders in a rapidly changing world.
  • Promote Equity and Inclusion: I am dedicated to closing the achievement gap by supporting English language learners and Kumeyaay students, while also ensuring access to mental health resources and comprehensive support services for all students.
  • Foster Community Engagement and Transparent Governance: I will prioritize open communication with parents, students, and community members, actively involving them in decision-making processes and ensuring that our schools reflect the diverse needs and values of Alpine.
Education, Environment, Healthcare, Science
My platform is built around three core values:

Innovative Leadership: Our schools should be centers of innovation, where students are exposed to new ideas and equipped with the skills they need for the future. As a board member, I will work to secure grants and build partnerships with local industries to bring cutting-edge STEM programs and resources to our district. By expanding hands-on STEM opportunities, I will ensure that students are prepared for careers in high-demand fields and are empowered to lead in the 21st-century economy.

Equity and Inclusion: I am deeply committed to fostering an educational environment that serves every student, including English language learners and Kumeyaay students. I will work to close the achievement gap by promoting equity in education and ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed. I believe that a culture of inclusion creates a sense of belonging and helps students thrive both academically and socially.

A Student-Centered Vision: My top priority as a board member will be to ensure that every decision we make puts students first. I will advocate for a holistic approach to education that supports students' academic, social, and emotional well-being. This includes preparing students for all career paths, whether they choose to pursue higher education, enter vocational training, or become entrepreneurs. By fostering a culture of curiosity and critical thinking, I will help students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed in any endeavor they choose.
In addition to my background in science and education, I have a deep understanding of the importance of collaboration and communication. I actively seek input from parents, teachers, and community members, ensuring that my platform reflects the diverse needs of our district. I am committed to being a transparent and responsive leader who listens to all stakeholders and makes informed decisions that benefit the entire community.

My experience as a teacher, a STEM professional, and a proud product of this district uniquely qualifies me for this role. I am passionate about creating a future where our schools are centers of innovation, inclusion, and academic excellence. Together, we can build a school district that prepares our students for success in the modern world while fostering a strong sense of community and belonging.
San Diego County Democratic Party, San Diego Democrats for Equality
My vision is to foster a culture of curiosity, ignite a passion for learning, and equip every student with the skills to thrive—whether in STEM fields, vocational careers, or as future entrepreneurs— and excel as the leaders of tomorrow.
