Chris Doherty
Christopher Doherty (b. March 25, 1958) is the mayor of Scranton, Pennsylvania. He was re-elected in November, 2009, to a third term. Chris Doherty was elected to the officer of Mayor of Scranton, Pennsylvania in 2001. In November of 2009 Doherty was re-elected to a third term, despite announced intentions to run for governor. Doherty faced little opposition in his mayoral run, and won handily over the write-in candidacy of perennial opponent and former City Councilman Gary DiBileo.
Elections
2010
In 2010 Doherty initially ran for Governor, but dropped out in February to run for state senate instead.[1] He lost in the primary, coming in second to John Blake.[2]
