Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Batsche's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • National Debt: Our debt is over $18,000,000,000,000! And it's only going up! Spending in Washington is out of control. The answer is not to make cuts to the military, Medicaid, or any of the programs that either keeps us safe or millions of Americans depend on daily. Nor is it to simply raise taxes. We need to look at the US Government like it's a business, because that's exactly what it is, a business.
  • Healthcare: Rising insurance premiums, rising deductibles, fees for not having insurance. Not really the direction that millions of Americans were expecting when Congress passed a law without reading it, "We have to pass it to find out what's in it" - Nancy Pelosi, 2010. Healthcare costs continue to rise! Our delegates should be there in Washington fighting on behalf of their constituents. But that's not what we have!
  • Education: 17th!!! That's where the United States of America ranks in education in the world, and Missouri ranks 28 out of the 50 states! According to edweek.org, Missouri education is failing in the following categories: school accountability D-, K-12 achievement D, teaching proficiency D+, spending F, college readiness D-. Not all people learn the same way, and there is no cookie cutter way to teach.
  • Veterans: Veterans all over the country are going without the care they need! As a result, America's heros are committing suicide (at a rate of 22 PER DAY!!), contracting infectious diseases due to poor sanitary issues, seeing their benefits cut and issues receiving them, homeless, and dying from causes that are preventable. We owe it to these brave men and women, who VOLUNTEERED, to make sure they get the care they need and deserve.
